Boarding

The school is all-boarding and very conducive dormitories have been provided within the school premises for boys and girls. Each hostel is designed such that there is a quadrangle within each block to enhance ventilation. The quadrangle also serves as space for some form of exercises, in addition to other in-door recreational games. The Principals and other key staff who are resident in the school premises are the main overseers of the hostels.

The Boys hostel is called Oak Hall and the Girls hostel is called Olive Hall. Each hostel has a common room for relaxation, well maintained conveniences, mini ironing hall and hair salon. The hostels are supervised by experienced and mature house parents and the schools Head Nurse or Matron resides in one of the hostels. Since the students are well fed, provision is not allowed in the school.

For the girls only simple ear rings are allowed and the hair is to be made in a particular style while for the boys the hair is cut low with no designs. Designer items of clothing are not permitted in the school.

A typical day in the school starts at 5:30am with Devotion. A head count is done before the Devotion starts. After this, students engage in their morning chores. This is when they lay their beds and perform their assigned morning duties with the supervision of the house parents. Between 6:45am and 6:50am, the students leave for the Dining Hall to have their breakfast, which usually lasts for 30 minutes before the Morning Assembly.

General Assemblies are held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Form Tutor’s assembly and House assembly hold on Tuesdays and Thursdays respectively. For Mondays’ assemblies, it is a seating assembly and it lasts for forty minutes on class basis with the assistance of teachers on duty. A Virtue is selected for each month and it is emphasized at all assemblies throughout the month.

After each assembly, lessons commence and stop at 2:20pm. Lunch is served from 2:20pm to 3:00pm and the students return to the hostel to have their siesta. At 4:00pm, learning support classes for the academically challenged students begin and end at 6:00pm. Other students begin their afternoon prep from 4:30pm to 5:30pm. Dinner is served at 7:00pm after which, night prep commences till 9:30pm. It is also the tradition for students to have their night prayer before light out at 10:30pm.
