11th Annual Inter-House Sport - Emerald High School

The 11th Annual Inter-House Sports Competition for the year 2018 took place on Saturday, 10th of February. The programme was well attended by parents, friends of the school and other invited schools who participated in the relay race. At the end of the competition, Amber House took first place position, while Ruby House took second place position, Opal House third and Jade House Fourth place position.

The events were as follows:
Match past, 100m,200m,400m, and 4x100m race, Egg race, Thug of War, Bold Girls Race, Drinking Competition, Sack race, Alumni race, Staff race, Parents race, Parents Match past, Parents Thug of War.

Arrival of Year 10 Students at the Sea School – 2017/2018 Academic Session

The Sea School Programme is a two-week intensive Leadership Programme which started on Monday, 19th of March and ends on Wednesday, 28th of March.

The benefits from the Programme are enormous as students acquire leadership skills. It serves as a multidisciplinary experience for students and attendance is one of the conditions for becoming a Prefect in the school.

Participants at the Arts4SDGoals Exhibition - United Nations Information Centre Ikoyi, Lagos.

The United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) Nigeria, in collaboration with the Lagos State Ministry of Education and Tender Arts Nigeria, organized an Arts4SDGs competition amongst secondary schools which required the students to express their understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in artistic forms.

Arts4SDGs aims to create awareness of the SDGs among children and the youth; and raise young advocates to inspire positive actions for sustainable development. Over 200 artsworks and poems were received and the best were exhibited and certificates were awarded to all students who participated as well as unveiling the SDGs theme song.

Emerald High School emerges 2nd runner up.

Miss Alexandra Nwigwe of Vivian Fowler Memorial College Lagos emerged as the overall winner for the Mike Okonkwo National Essay Competition for Secondary School students for the year 2017. Nwigwe scored 90% in the first round of the competition and 80% in the second round of the competition to come first.
